The old V10 that came out of the truck had an issues with the cam shaft being worn in the block. It would produce a knock on cold start which would go away as soon as it was warm. Power was also definitely lacking. Our Ford 4R100 transmission needed some serious work, so we had it beefed up pretty good to deal with the extra diesel torque.
